A few miles north or Rexburg, just past the sand dunes, is the White Sands road. This place is one of the really fun ATV rides within about a 20 to 30 minute drive from Rexburg. It is a desert location, but the variety of terrain makes it a blast. From nice dirt roads to jeep trails to sand dunes, it all makes for a fun afternoon of riding.

To get there, just take the north Rexburg exit off of US-20 and head north down the Salem highway for the St. Anthony Sand Dunes.

Go past the Sand Hills resort about a mile or two. The first well traveled dirt road to the right is the White Sands road.

There is a nice spot right after the turn to park and unload. From there, just head down the White Sands road. Every mile or two there is a trail leading off to the right (south). We usually take as many of these side roads as we have time for. They are really fun and usually lead to the east dunes. The east dunes are pretty quiet and you rarely see riders on them, so it is fun to play around in the sand. Just be careful as those sand dunes can be dangerous. There are quite a few cattle in the area, so be on your toes. If you open a gate, be sure to close it.
