About 30 miles north west of Mud Lake is the Long Canyon/Skull Canyon ride. This is a
great ride that can be reached on an ATV from the Birch Creek Campground (along with Eight Mile
Canyon), so a good
candidate for a weekend camp and ride.
To get to the trailhead head though Mud Lake going west and take HWY 28 for not quite 30 miles.
You can park at Long Canyon or Skull Canyon, and there is a nice trail along the highway that
connects the two.
