Located about a half an hour from Pocatello is the Rockland riding area. It has very pleasant trails with lots of good scenery.
To get to the trailhead from Pocatello, head down Interstate 86 like you are going to Boise. Once you get past the American Falls Reservoir, take a left on the Rockland Highway (37).
Drive through the town of Rockland and go about another 7 or so miles to the trailhead ( 42o28'47.83"N, 112o50'28.04"W).
From here there are many trails to ride. You can ride on the east or west side of the highway. The number of trails seems endless. The ride that was taken was on the west side of the road and the GPS output is included below.
