Located about an hour north of Idaho Falls is the Lookout Point Ride near Spencer. This is a premier ride, and one of my favorites so far. It has beautiful views and a nice lookout at the end.
To get to the trailhead from Idaho Falls, head north on I-15 for about an hour. Take the Spencer exit (Exit 180) and turn right.
Take your first right, then a left on Idmon Road. Drive about 2 miles until you see a big parking area and road to the left. Park and unload.
The trail from here is a really nice dirt road. Stay on it until you see a forest service metal sign map. Take a right and keep going until the road splits three ways. Take a right and stay on the trail and follow the signs to the top. It was very handy for us to take along the GPS map.

There are LOTS of trails in this area, and it is easy to get disoriented or off on the wrong trail. Not a problem
if you have all day to explore, but if you want to take just this ride, take your GPS unit and print out the GPS
map for the trail.
