Felt

Forum for Felt Ride

I realize that there are those who love the narliest ATVing they can get their hands on. They are not happy unless they are clawing thier way up a rockstrewn trail, or winching thier ATV up a 15-foot cliff. They love adrenalin, and nothing will change that.

Then there are people like my mother, who would just as soon ride her ATV down a gravel road. This ride is for people like her, who like to visit the great outdoors, but don't want to tackle anything scary.

Felt is a small town located about 30 miles east of Sugar City. To get there, take highway 33 through Teton and Newdale. Just before the 33 turns south into Tetonia, turn onto HWY-32.

From there, go a couple of miles and turn on 1200 North. Drive down 1200 North until you cross the old railroad tracks. The tracks have been removed, but you should recognize them. We just pulled onto the old railroad tracks to park and unload.

From there, just follow US Forest road #266. It is a lovely ride with a good view of the Teton mountains.

It is worth taking a small detour north on the old railroad tracks to a trestle bridge that spans the Teton river. It is a pretty view and exhilerating to ride over.
